New Synology E10M20-T1! Use 10GbE AND M.2 SSD

Synology E10M20-T1

Synology E10M20-T1 PCIe Card

Synology has finally released the new E10M20-T1 card! With this card, users finally do not have to decide between having a 10GbE card or having a M.2 SSD Cache.

This card has been long awaited by many users as it finally patches the hole left in the performance lineup for power users. Synology has stopped shipping many of their larger, but not enterprise grade, NAS’s with 10GbE cards. This meant that users with something like a DS1819+ were previously unable to get both M.2 SSD caching and 10GbE networking.

Compatibility

Synology has still not entirely solved the issue however. Currently the capability list is incredibly narrow:

  • SA series: SA3600, SA3400
  • 20 series: RS820RP+, RS820+
  • 19 series: DS2419+, DS1819+
  • 18 series: RS2818RP+, DS3018xs, DS1618+
